Listen To Two Exclusive Tracks From the ‘Hysteria!—Original Series Soundtrack
Lakeshore Records is set to release Hysteria!—Original Series Soundtrack digitally today, October 18, featuring music by composer Tyler Bates (John Wick films, Dawn of the Dead). Bates brings a distinct black metal vibe to the score with supremely creepy tracks as well as three songs by the series’ band Dethkrunch, that provide a raucous backdrop to the comedic horror series set in the “Satanic Panic” era of the late 1980s.

When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.
We have two exclusive tracks from the soundtrack to tease what’s to come in the new series!
First up is the introductory track, simply titled “Hysteria!”
Then, follow that up with “Watchers of Death”, a track from Dethkrunch:
In 2004, Bates created the menacing sonic backdrop for the popular Zack Snyder reboot of Dawn
of the Dead. From there, Bates and Snyder teamed up for the films 300, Watchmen, and Suckerpunch. Bates’ resume expanded to include films like Atomic Blonde, The Devil’s Rejects, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and TV shows like Californication, The Purge, and The Exorcist. Bates also Genndy Tartakovsky’s acclaimed animated series Samurai Jack and Primal on Adult Swim.
Besides scoring the biggest titles in film and TV, Bates has also written and produced records for artists such as Mastodon, BUSH, and Starcrawler.
