‘VILE: Director’s Cut’ Trailer: Extreme Horror Gets Interactive In New Indie Horror Game

VILE

The debut title from solo indie developer Final Girl Games, VILE: Director’s Cut announces its release window on Steam for early 2025 after its inclusion in DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase. VILE is a disturbing point-and-click horror game about misogynistic entitlement and the real-world consequences of commodifying violence against women. In VILE: Director’s Cut, explore the decades-old computer of a killer with a particular fascination. Follow his footsteps through forums, hard drives, and email servers to discover what attracts a killer’s attention–and where it leads him.

VILE is part diary entry, part nightmare,” said solo developer Cara Cadaver. “I’m capturing the real sense of dread women feel just by existing in the world. VILE takes something horrific and makes it mundane. This is the most critical horror story I could tell.”

Key Features

  • Narrative-driven, point-and-click horror
  • Sift through the darkest pits of an old computer
  • Snoop through private emails
  • Uncover live-action photos and videos
  • Piece together the mystery of what happened to the famed Candy Corpse

VILE contains disturbing multimedia content that features sexual violence, stalking, and abusive language. Play with care for yourself and others.

VILE: Director’s Cut launches on Steam in early 2025.
