Exclusive: Title Revealed - The Purge: Anarchy; Description of the First Trailer and StillsYou excited for the sequel to The Purge? Well then, we can now exclusively confirm for you that the full title of the flick is The Purge: Anarchy, and also a trailer will be hitting THIS WEEK! Read on for details and screenshots!

A Dread Central reader by the name of The Polite Leader (a nod to the first film) wrote in with the news, the images you see below, and a description of what’s in the trailer.

The trailer opens with a young couple heading home (looks to be Devil’s Due’s Zack Gilford and Kiele Sanchez). The young lady is anxious, wanting to get home as quickly as possible (and with good reason). Then – their car breaks down. “No, no! This can’t be happening!” “No one’s going to help us tonight.”

The announcement of the annual Purge kicks in – cut to shots of the city closing up for the night (people leaving the streets, metal shutters dropping, people arming themselves). Our young couple exit their car as the sun starts dropping. Once they hit the city limits, they run afoul of a skull mask-wearing biker gang. Quick cuts of the couple being chased.

“On June 20th…”

The warped version of “America the Beautiful” that graced the previous film’s trailer kicks in.

Explosions. A group of wealthy looking folks standing over an elder with various sharp instruments.

“Are You…”

A bus full of scary looking tattooed dudes prowls the streets.

“Prepared…”

Quick shots – the couple looking terrified, a gang throwing molotov cocktails on the streets..

“For Anarchy…”

Skull-masked biker basking in the chaos. Our heroes running for their lives. A heavily armed guy opening fire. Then – daylight. A hoodie-wearing guy wearing menacing death’s head war paint stares us down from the distance. A creepy looking guy in a plain white mask with the word “god” written on it waves goodbye with his fingers.

“The Purge: Anarchy” title over a shot of a tarnished and torn American flag.

“June 20th. How Will You Purge? #PurgeAnarchy”

The sequel stars Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Zach Gilford, Carmen Ejogo, Jasper Cole, Zoe Borde, Chad Morgan, and Kiele Sanchez.

Look for it in theaters on Friday, June 20, 2014.

Writer/director/producer James DeMonaco returns and will be joined by producers Jason Blum, Sebastien Lemercier, and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form.
