2014 Is turning out to be one hell of a year for R.L. Stine fans. Not only has the feature film adaptation of Goosebumps entered production, but later this year we’ll also see the revival of his popular book series Fear Street. And that’s just the beginning, friends!
Variety reports that MTV has handed a 10-episode order to “Eye Candy,” a drama based on the 2004 Stine novel of the same name.
The series stars Victoria Justice and centers on a beautiful but reclusive hacker whose blog exposes everything from terrorist plots to suspected killers. Convinced by her roommate to begin online dating, Lindy (Justice) is targeted by a dangerous cyberstalker and believes one of her suitors to be the culprit. When things take a deadly turn, she teams up with the city’s cyber-crime unit to catch the killer.
Emmy Grinwis penned the pilot for “Eye Candy,” which is executive produced by Catherine Hardwicke and Jason Blum. Hardwicke also helmed the pilot.
MTV has yet to set a premiere date for the series.
