‘The Jester 2’ Wraps Filming — Learn More About this Shocking New Horror Franchise from DREAD

DREAD has shared that The Jester 2 has officially wrapped filming and is set to release in 2025. Written and directed by Colin Krawchuk (The Jester, Initiation, Victory: A Star Wars Story), this highly anticipated sequel will pick up where The Jester—currently streaming exclusively on Shudder—left off, diving deeper into the mythos of its eerie, masked villain.

The cast features returning star Michael Sheffield (The Jester, Behind Closed Doors) alongside newcomers Kaitlyn Trentham (Haven, Murder Made Me Famous), Hassen Kacem (Out of the Box Office, The Spot), Jessica Ambuehl (Black Mold, Shakespeare’s Mummy), and Dingani Beza (The Carmichael Show, The Cool Kids).

With fresh talent and a bold vision, The Jester 2 promises a sinister twist on the supernatural horror genre. Notably, fans can expect an updated look for The Jester, a figure whose sinister grin and haunting tricks have already earned a spot in the pantheon of horror antagonists.

Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald expressed his excitement for the film, hinting at its potential to further solidify The Jester as a horror icon. “Launching the original Terrifier proved what it takes to create a horror icon, and now, with The Jester, we’re witnessing lightning strike twice. The runaway success of the first film shattered our expectations and made it clear that fans crave daring and unforgettable horror,” Ewald shared. He teased that The Jester 2 “isn’t just a sequel; it’s the next chapter in building a legacy,” promising a “haunting, intense” experience that will push boundaries and leave audiences reeling.

For Krawchuk, this production has been nearly a decade in the making. Reflecting on the journey, he described it as a culmination of years living with the character of The Jester. “Every department exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be more proud of the incredible hard work the cast and crew put into this movie,” he said. He also hinted that The Jester 2 would channel the tone and atmosphere of the original short films, while expanding The Jester’s story in unprecedented ways.

The film’s official synopsis teases a chilling Halloween night when The Jester, a supernatural trickster, encounters Max, a clever 15-year-old girl. Forced into an uneasy alliance, Max must use her wits to survive a deadly encounter with a magician who isn’t just performing tricks—he’s truly magic.

As we edge closer to its release, horror fans have plenty of reasons to be thrilled for what’s next from The Jester 2.
