‘Y2K’ Trailer Is Ready To Party Like It’s 1999
Do you remember where you were on New Year’s Eve in 1999? Were you living it up like it was your last day on Earth or did you think the theorized tech crash was all a hoax? Either way, there’s no denying the anxiety that permeated society during that time, which director Kyle Mooney mines for his new horror-comedy Y2K, which takes place on that fateful night.
In the film, “On the last night of 1999, two high school juniors crash a New Year’s Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.“

Mooney directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Evan Winter. Previously, Mooney was a Saturday Night Live cast member from 2013 to 2022 and co-wrote and co-starred in the film Brigsby Bear. Y2K marks Mooney’s first foray into directing.
Jaeden Martell, Rachel Zegler, Julian Dennison, The Kid Laroi, Lachlan Watson, Mason Gooding, Daniel Zolghadri, Eduardo Franco, and Fred Durst star in the film.
Y2K comes exclusively to theaters on December 6, 2024, from A24.
