‘The Soul Eater’ Exclusive Clip: A Grisly Crime Scene
Directing duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury have shocked and disturbed audiences since the release of their first film Inside in 2007. They’ve mastered how to upset audiences while keeping them engaged, even if they want to look away from the depravity. And they prove that mastery once again in their latest film The Soul Eater, a police procedural thriller with quite a few twists thrown in along the way.
In the film, “When violent and gruesome deaths start plaguing a small mountain village, an old legend about a malevolent creature resurfaces.”
With The Soul Eater out now on VOD, we have an exclusive clip that teases the film’s violence and what the two police officers investigating these deaths are up against.
Watch now:
Bustillo and Maury directed The Soul Eater from a script by Annelyse Batrel and Ludovic Lefebvre, which was based on the novel of the same name by Alexis Laipsker.
Virginie Ledoyen, Paul Hamy, and Sandrine Bonnaire star in the film.
Billie Walker reviewed The Soul Eater for Dread Central out of FrightFest this year and wrote,
“It is another of its ilk for those who want to be enchanted by the landscape and disturbed by the underbelly. It’s this potent concoction of the supernatural and the logical that leads law enforcement to refute legality. The Soul Eater may leave a bitter taste in our mouths, but the breadcrumbs of the film’s mysteries can be chewed on for days after this disturbing feast.“
The Soul Eater is available now on VOD.
