A Release Date Given to The Conjuring 2Given the box office success of last year’s The Conjuring, it was inevitable that a sequel would follow. Today Warner Bros. has set a release date for that sequel, known tentatively as The Conjuring 2. Read on for the when, kids!

According to THR, The Conjuring 2, which will not be directed by James Wan (it doesn’t have a director at all at this stage), will open October 23, 2015. No other movies are on that date at this point in time, although Universal is opening up Guillermo del Toro’s Gothic horror movie Crimson Peak on October 16.

New Line has also slotted an October 3, 2014, date for an untitled horror movie. The company did not disclose details of the project, but since the date is under eight months away, speculation is running rampant that it could be the currently filming Conjuring spin-off Annabelle or the Wan-produced Crawlspace.

We shall see.
