Gazer follows a young mother (Mastroianni) who, due to a unique condition that progressively affects her perception of time, is trying to save money for her daughter’s future before it’s too late. Now check out the official trailer:
Sloan and Mastroianni also produced the film together, shooting it on a shoestring budget over weekends in the spring and fall for two years while Sloan worked as an electrician and Mastroianni in film programming in New York. It’s a true labor of love that speaks to the spirit of indie genre filmmaking.
On top of writing and producing Gazer, Mastroianni also serves as the film’s star. She appears alongside Marcia Debonis, Renee Gagner, Jack Alberts, and Tommy Kang.
Gazer comes to theaters on February 21, 2025, from Metrograph Pictures.
