Evil Ready to Roll
Following up on the details we provided you with in our last story on the project, Fangoria found out from producer/writer Dennison Ramalho that the triumphant return of Coffin Joe to cinemas, The Embodiment of Evil, will be going in front of cameras on November 2nd with shooting scheduled to run through mid-December in and around the city of Sao Paulo.
Ramalho is very excited about the project, which he told the site was originally written many years ago as a tale of a young and energetic Coffin Joe terrorizing the countryside, but to make that film now would have necessitated a new actor, and there’s really only one Coffin Joe. So the script was revamped and takes place in the here and now with Joe having just been released from a 40-year imprisonment, still looking for the perfect mate and now being hunted by all manner of enemies, both natural and otherwise.
“It will be by far the most intense Coffin Joe film ever despite his age,” Ramlho comments regarding Jose Marins, aka Coffin Joe. “He’s very aware of the price you have to pay to make a horror film worth seeing these days, and he’s making a truly extreme one.” Stay tuned for more as we dig it up!
