One of the Most Successful Horror Movies Ever is Now on Paramount+ and Hailed by Rotten Tomatoes

A Quiet Place horror

A Quiet Place is a revolutionary horror film. Most of the picture is sans sound, eschewing convention and showing us that silence is not only deafening but also has the very real potential to be utterly terrifying. It’s no surprise that the flick resonated with movie lovers and critics alike when it bowed. The premise is smart and original. But I’m not sure anyone could have predicted that the film would take in more than $340 million at the global box office and kickstart a franchise. Yet, here we are.

Dynamic filmmaking duo Beck and Woods co-wrote the screenplay for A Quiet Place with John Krasinski, who also directed and starred. The picture delivers a meaningful message about the importance of family while simultaneously serving up a nonstop barrage of thrills and chills.

In addition to slaying at the box office, A Quiet Place also made a strong impression on movie critics. The flick is ‘certified fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes and even landed a spot on the platform’s top 200 horror films of all time list. That’s right, A Quiet Place scored the #10 spot in that exhaustive ranking. Nice work.

Where is A Quiet Place available to stream?

If you’re itching to watch A Quiet Place and you don’t own a copy on physical media, you can find the flick streaming on Paramount+ as of the publication of this post. Actually, you can stream the entire trilogy there. So, if you feel the urge to marathon the series, you can scratch that itch.

Fun Fact: Beck and Woods came up with the concept for the film in college. When they began to write the script in 2016, it was an expansion of the idea they’d conceived all those years ago.

The setup for this acclaimed horror picture goes like this:

If they hear you, they hunt you. A family must live in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Knowing that even the slightest whisper or footstep can bring death, Evelyn and Lee are determined to find a way to protect their children while desperately searching for a way to fight back.
