One of Rotten Tomatoes’ Top Horrors of All Time Is Leaving Netflix This Month

I love watching movies. It’s one of my favorite things about being a living human. But picking one can be challenging. Sometimes I know exactly what I want to watch. Other times, I get nervous that I’m going to choose a movie I won’t connect with. Fortunately, the fine folks at Rotten Tomatoes have taken some of the guesswork out of picking a movie. The Tomatometer makes it easy enough to spot a dud before making a time investment. In addition to scoring individual films, the team at Rotten Tomatoes has also taken the time to compile a series of lists ranking the collective output of specific genres.

Case in point: The platform features an exhaustive ranking of the top 200 horror films of all time. Every feature on such an authoritative list is surely worth seeking out. With that in mind, the site’s pick for the 18th greatest horror film of all time, The Wailing, is gearing up to make its exit from Netflix. The last day to watch is January 29, 2025. So, if you haven’t yet experienced this South Korean horror film from 2016, there’s no time like the present to remedy that.

The setup for this Rotten Tomatoes-approved chiller goes like this:

Villagers investigate a mysterious new stranger and the killings that arrive with him. There is mass hysteria as loved ones are taken and killed.

If you require further convincing, maybe the film’s Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus will help make up your mind. The rave endorsement reads: “The Wailing delivers an atmospheric, cleverly constructed mystery whose supernatural thrills more than justify its imposing length.”

Okay. I know you caught that bit about the “imposing length”. But hear me out. Some films need a little extra time to paint a complete picture. The Wailing clocks in at just over two-and-a-half hours. But you can break it up into two sittings if you get ants in your pants from sitting still. Trust me when I say that you’ll be glad you took the time to experience this.

That’s all that we have for you at present, dear reader. Stay tuned to the site for more crucial updates on which films within your niche interest set are coming and going from your favorite streaming platforms.
