‘Until Dawn’ Trailer: New Movie Brings Hit Video Game To Life
I don’t know about you, but I spent a lot of time playing the original Until Dawn to see all the different endings and how they changed the game’s outcome. Now, we’re about to get David F. Sandberg’s take on the iconic game with the official Until Dawn movie adaptation! And from the official trailer, it looks like it’s going to be one bloody affair.
Read the full synopsis below:
One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again—only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
Watch the official trailer:
There’s a Cabin In The Woods vibe here as the friend group is forced to confront all different kinds of monsters, killers, and creatures over the course of one night (technically, at least). This isn’t meant to be a direct adaptation of the first game, which is an interesting angle to take on this video game adaptation.
Sandberg directed Until Dawn from a script by Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman.
Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare star in the film. Stormare’s inclusion is particularly exciting as he was the strange narrator-slash-psychiatrist in the original game. But we’ll have to wait until the film hits theaters, though, to see just how involved his character is.
Until Dawn comes exclusively to theaters on April 25, 2025.
