‘Opus’ Trailer: Ayo Edebiri Stars In New A24 Cult Thriller
In his feature film debut Opus, writer and director Mark Anthony Green tackles the cult of celebrity through a young writer played by Ayo Edebiri, and the mysterious return of a pop star, played by John Malkovich. With its Sundance premiere quickly approaching, A24 has released the film’s official trailer ahead of its festival debut.
In the film:
A young writer (Ayo Edebiri) is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star (John Malkovich) who mysteriously disappeared thirty years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.

Edebiri and Malkovich star in the film alongside Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, and Tatanka Means.
Opus comes exclusively to theaters from A24 on March 14, 2025.
