This Oscar-Winning Clint Eastwood Military Thriller is Now on Prime Video

Clint Eastwood Prime Video

Few filmmakers have had a career more enviable than Clint Eastwood. The Dirty Harry actor started in front of the camera and made a name for himself, eventually transitioning into directing. Though he has continued to act, Eastwood’s greatest success stems from his directorial endeavors. He previously won Best Picture and Best Director twice each at the Academy Awards. Wowsers.

If you’re in the mood for a little more Clint Eastwood in your life, I have good news for you. One of the celebrated director’s films recently became available to stream on Prime. More specifically, I’m talking about American Sniper. Not only is the flick ‘certified fresh’ by the fine folks at Rotten Tomatoes (with an approval rating of 72%), it also took home the Oscar statuette for Best Achievement in Sound Editing circa 2015. Well done.

American Sniper

Eastwood helmed the picture from a screenplay penned by Jason Hall (who later went on to write the script for Gran Turismo). The screen treatment was adapted from a book by Chris Kyle (with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice). The tome is an autobiography recalling Kyle’s history as the most deadly sniper in U.S. Military history.

If you are curious to experience the film for yourself, make your way to Prime Video and see what you think.

The film features an impressive cast including the likes of Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, Sienna Miller as Taya, Luke Grimes as Marc, and Lee Jake McDorman as Biggles.

The setup for this acclaimed Clint Eastwood picture goes as follows:

U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Cooper) takes his sole mission — protect his comrades — to heart and becomes one of the most lethal snipers in American history. His pinpoint accuracy not only saves countless lives but also makes him a prime target of insurgents. Despite grave danger and his struggle to be a good husband and father to his family back in the States, Kyle serves four tours of duty in Iraq. However, when he finally returns home, he finds that he cannot leave the war behind.

That is all that we have for you at present, dear reader.
