‘The Flayed Man’ Is A Bloody Nightmare Reminiscent of Clive Barker [Watch]
Get ready for one gnarly, excruciating experience with Snoring Dog Games‘ The Flayed Man, coming to Windows PC via Steam and itch.io on April 17, 2025! The game marks the studio’s public debut and combines literary influences like Clive Barker and Edgar Allan Poe with point-and-click mechanics similar to Fran Bow and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow.
The Flayed Man is a point-and-click horror game where gamers play as the titular Flayed Man, who awakes without memories (or skin) in a decayed, otherworldly house. They must uncover the sins of the past, pass judgment, and decide the Flayed Man’s fate in this macabre adventure.

Tony Deans from Snoring Dog Games told Dread Central, “In creating The Flayed Man, what we really wanted to do was craft a visceral, in-your-face experience that disgusts players from the get-go, similar to the works of Clive Barker. Although I do enjoy cerebral horror, there’s something about visuals that are discomforting and unpleasant which I think hits on that primal part of our brain, where although we can rationalize what we’re seeing, something still says, ‘This isn’t right, I shouldn’t be looking at this.'”
He continued, saying, “We’ve crafted a narrative that is deliberately discomforting, and by placing the choices that determine the ending in the player’s hands, they’ll have to bear responsibility for the final fate of The Flayed Man, no matter how unpleasant that may be.”
Snoring Dog Games is a UK-based studio passionate about telling unique, challenging, and often dark, stories through video games.
The Flayed Man will be available for free. Players can also support the studio by purchasing a supporter’s pack or paying what they can. Add the game to your Steam wishlist now or follow it on itch.io.
