‘Under The Midnight Sun’: Kevin Corrigan Joins Cast For New Cannibalism Film
Coming soon from writer and director Lisa Hammer is Under The Midnight Sun, a short film about a woman, her demonic chicken purse, and a cannibalistic desire to consume her favorite country singer. Yes, you read that right. Hammer is currently filming this absurd and surreal story and she needs our help as the film is still raising funds!

A girl with dissociative identity disorder, triggered by the incessant voices of her talking chicken handbag, embarks on a disturbing obsession with her favorite country singer—stalking her until the lines between reality and fantasy blur, and she consumes her in a twisted act of possession.
And voicing that handbag is none other than Kevin Corrigan (True Romance, The Departed, Pineapple Express)! His character “Chickenbag” is a demonic spirit/aural hallucination that channels itself through a mentally ill woman’s rubber chicken purse. He convinces her that her life is in shambles and that everyone is plotting against her. He succeeds in persuading her to take violent actions to free herself from her tormentors.
Corrigan will star in the short film alongside Gabrielle Sterbenz from the band Wheatus, as well as twin actors Ruby and Sasah Rechler.
Hammer said of Under The Midnight Sun,
“This film addresses mental illness in a young woman, and with two of my own family members diagnosed with schizophrenia, the subject is close to my heart. This film will be a surreal, absurdist, magical realism, dark noir, in the same vein as Twin Peaks, Naked Lunch, The Substance, and Repulsion. We just signed on Kevin Corrigan who has recorded the VO for Chickenbag, and one of the singers from the band Wheatus as our co-star (who has recorded a new hit song as our title song!), and twin actresses to play the main character Emily/Maria. I have also secured a fiscal sponsor to start raising funds. This short will be a proof of concept for a feature-length film of the same name and subject matter.”
Hammer wrote and will direct the film, with Levi Wilson (Luke and Emma, Great Kills) serving as the DP. Dylan Mars Greenberg (Spirit Riser) produces the film.
