This Brutal Horror Franchise Is Trending Now on Max on the Heels

Final Destination on Max

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Final Destination series is one of the most consistently enjoyable horror franchises out there. As it turns out, I’m not alone in that assessment. It seems that Max subscribers agree with me wholeheartedly. How do I know? Four of the five series installments are charting in the top 10 on HBO’s Max platform today.

Here is how the Final Destination films are charting on Max

The series’ first installment, Final Destination, claims the #2 slot on the Max platform today. Final Destination 2 comes in as the fourth most-watched film on the streamer. The fifth installment takes the number five chart position. And the third outing sits in sixth place. The fourth film is the only installment not in the top 10. It also happens to be the least celebrated of the bunch, so that doesn’t come as a total shock.

Final Destination 2

It’s pretty epic to see 80% of a horror franchise charting on a single streaming platform. However, the recent uptick in interest shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Max recently added the four series installments that weren’t available to stream on the platform in preparation for the release of the series’ long-awaited sixth installment.

Speaking of the sixth franchise entry, it’s slated for a theatrical release on May 16, 2025. That’s right, after years of stops and starts, the long-awaited sequel is finally on the horizon. The latest offering is called Final Destination: Bloodlines.

Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein direct the series’ sixth cinematic outing. The duo helmed the picture from a script by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor.

The setup for the series’ upcoming sixth installment is this:

Plagued by a violent and recurring nightmare, a college student heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle of death and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.

That is everything that we have for you at present, dear reader.
