When it comes to Texas-based horror conventions, it doesn’t get bigger or better than Texas Frightmare Weekend. That being said, it sounds as if things have just gotten a bit bigger! Read on for the details.

Texas Frightmare Weekend is back, badder than ever, May 2nd through the 4th, offering up more celebrity guests, more vendors, and more amazing tie-ins than ever!
This year TFW is teaming up with the incredible Alamo Drafthouse Dallas to screen five classic Frightmare-themed films during the week leading up to the festival… culminating with a star-studded secret screening of one of horror’s greatest masterpieces on May 1st!
On April 27th Texas Frightmare Weekend kicks things off in style at Alamo Drafthouse Dallas with a special 3D screening of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, celebrating the classic film’s Sixtieth Anniversary! On the following night they revisit the birth of one of modern horror’s greatest franchises with James Wan’s Saw. On the 29th TFW celebrates its Terminator reunion with a special double-bill of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. And on the 30th it’s your chance to relive the event that birthed found-footage horror: The Blair Witch Project! Later that same night TFW celebrates one of fandom’s biggest underground hits – the toe-tapping Repo! The Genetic Opera.
If that’s not enough, Texas Frightmare Weekend caps off its week of films with a secret screening of an undisputed masterpiece of the horror genre, featuring the writer/director and key talent in-person!
TFW is arguably America’s largest gathering of horror celebrities, professionals, and fans – now celebrating its ninth amazing year. The blockbuster event – again returning to The Hyatt Regency DFW – boasts over 10,000 attendees annually and has hosted hundreds of genre legends, including Clive Barker, Malcolm McDowell, Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, and Cary Elwes!
Celebrating the festival’s partnership with the greatest movie theater chain in the world, Texas Frightmare Weekend 2014 will also re-name its popular on-site screening room The Alamo Drafthouse Grindhouse Cinema!
Celebrity guests at TFW 2014 include living legend George A. Romero and the cast of Dawn of the Dead; Saw’s Tobin Bell; The Creature from the Black Lagoon’s Julie Adams and Ricou Browning; a Terminator reunion featuring Michael Biehn, Earl Boen, Linda Hamilton, Peter Kent, Kristanna Loken, and Robert Patrick; Japan’s ass-kicking warrior princess Asami; Hellraiser’s Doug Bradley, Nicholas Vince, and Barbie Wilde; Paradise Lost’s Jason Baldwin; the cast of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”; Full Moon founder Charles Band; Repo! The Genetic Opera’s Bill Moseley, Nivek Ogre, and Alexa Vega; the legendary Linda Blair; Night of the Demons’ Amelia Kinkade, Linnea Quigley, and Kevin Tenney; Doctor Giggles himself, Larry Drake; and The Blair Witch Project’s Heather Donohue, Joshua Leonard, Michael C. Williams, and Eduardo Sanchez!
