The #1 Movie on Paramount+ Today Is a ‘Certified Fresh’ Horror Thriller

The most-watched film globally on Paramount+ today is a prequel from a blockbuster franchise. The picture in question is the third installment in a hit series that has grossed nearly $1 billion to date at the box office. I’m talking about A Quiet Place: Day One.
This third series outing marks a number of changes for the A Quiet Place series. Most noticeably the absence of franchise mainstays John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The pair feature prominently in the first and second films but they have stepped aside here to make room for a new cast of characters.
The setup for this apocalyptic horror thriller on Paramount+ is this:
When New York City comes under attack from an alien invasion, a woman and other survivors try to find a way to safety. They soon learn that they must remain absolutely silent as the mysterious creatures are drawn to the slightest sound.
Krasinski was heavily involved with every aspect of the first two series installments. The actor and filmmaker collaborated on the script for A Quiet Place with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who came up with the idea for the film when they were still in college. On the second picture in the series, Krasinski sat at the helm, starred alongside his spouse, Emily Blunt, and took the sole screenwriting credit. However, this time around, he passed the directorial reins to Michael Sarnoski. Of course, Krasinski is still involved with the franchise. He took a ‘story by’ credit on this latest effort and worked as a producer.
Michael Sarnoski penned the screenplay for A Quiet Place: Day One in addition to helming the project. The filmmaker rose to prominence after directing the poignant Nicolas Cage film Pig for Neon.
The cast for A Quiet Place: Day One includes Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and Djimon Hounsou.
Fun fact: Lupita Nyong’o was more than a little skeptical about appearing alongside a cat in the film, due to a feline phobia. However, the actress overcame her fear and wound up adopting a kitty of her own by the time production had wrapped.
If you’re keen to scope the latest installment in the A Quiet Place franchise, head over to Paramount+ and give it a shot. If you’re on the fence, allow me to mention that the flick is ‘certified fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes with an approval rating of 86%.
That is absolutely everything that we have for you at present.
