‘Death Of A Unicorn’ Trailer: Mess With The Unicorn, You Get The Horn

death of a unicorn

Like most little girls, I was obsessed with the idea of unicorns being real. I devoured fantasy books and watched The Last Unicorn daily for the better part of a year. But now, Alex Scharfman is delivering a new kind of unicorn in his feature film debut, Death Of A Unicorn, coming this March from A24.

Read the full synopsis below:

A father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenna Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Richard E. Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.

Now watch the new, gnarly trailer:

The trailer is giving off, dare I say, Jurassic Park vibes but with unicorns instead of dinosaurs. The trailer’s final shot alone feels like a tribute to Spielberg’s iconic film.

While this is Scharfman’s first feature as a director, he’s no stranger to filmmaking. He’s produced several indie gems over the years, including the queer pregnancy horror Lyle, the mind-bending thriller Resurrection, and the recent culinary horror House of Spoils.

Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, and Richard E. Grant star in the upcoming fantasy horror.

Death Of A Unicorn comes to theaters on March 28, 2025.
