After a phenomenal, sold out North American tour in 2013, Goblin is making a triumphant return to the US this spring, and we have all the info you need right here. With only nine dates, tickets are sure to go fast!
The legendary Italian masters of the horror movie soundtrack are best known for their collaborations with directors such as George A. Romero and Dario Argento as well as their seminal album Roller.
Goblin scored a vast number of genre cult classics including Suspiria, Patrick, The Church, Deep Red, Tenebrae, and Dawn of the Dead. Their synth-heavy prog rock regularly veers into nightmarish and atmospheric territory, making them a truly original and iconic entity.
Their unique, high energy performances have become a thing of legend, and now they’re playing an exclusive run of dates in April/May 2014 throughout Florida, Arizona, Texas, and California. Check out the new tour poster, created by Ghoulish Gary Pullin, below.
Goblin is also very pleased to announce that for the upcoming tour the second keyboard player on stage will be none other than Steve Moore of the cult synth/post-rock outfit Zombi (Relapse Records). Moore will be temporarily replacing Aidan Zammit, who was unavailable due to prior commitments.
Zombi’s work is highly influenced by the legacy of Goblin, and so this tour represents a coming together of the old school and the new. This will be a live display of electronic mastery the likes of which audiences will never have seen before and will definitely be the closest thing to living in a movie as you can possibly experience!
Goblin is made up of the original core members Massimo Morante (guitar), Fabio Pignatelli (bass) Maurizio Guarini (keyboards), and Agostino Marangolo (drums).
All shows are on sale now. The tour will also include a small amount of exclusive VIP ticketing, allowing fans to meet the band, get up close, see part of the sound check, and walk away with a commemorative poster.
Support on the tour will be provided by Texas two piece Pinkish Black (Century Media), and the dates are as follows:
· April 24 St. Petersburg, FL / State Theater
· April 25 Miami, FL / Grand Central
· April 27 Dallas, TX / Texas Theater
· April 28 Houston, TX / House of Blues
· April 29 Austin, TX / Mohawk
· May 1 Phoenix, AZ / Marquee
