‘Together’ Trailer: Alison Brie and James Franco Star In New Body Horror Film From Neon

Real-life couple Alison Brie and James Franco are about to get even closer in Michael Shanks’ upcoming body horror nightmare, Together. Shanks wrote and directed the film, which takes co-dependent relationships to another repulsive level.
In the film:
Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Dave Franco and Alison Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country. Abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except for each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.

Franco and Brie lead the film. Damon Herriman also stars.
In his review of the film out of Sundance 2025, Dread Central’s Zachary Lee wrote,
Together is a slick and incisive look at the dangers of codependency, but it never forgets to firstly be a grotesque and squeamish joyride, thanks to Brie and Franco’s commitment to embodying the demented thrills of when two become one.
It doesn’t sound like Shanks, Franco, or Brie are pulling any punches with this one, especially when it comes to the grotesque. Flesh will be ripped, bodies will be mangled, and love will always find a way, even if that love is covered in blood.
Neon brings Together to theaters on August 1, 2025.
