Michael Chiklis Joining American Horror Story: Freak Show; More Returning Cast Members Revealed

PaleyFest 2014 concluded tonight with the “American Horror Story: Coven” panel, during which more casting news for next season’s “Freak Show” was revealed. The great Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”) has signed on, plus we now know who else from “Coven” will be returning to the fold.

The Paley Center tweeted updates during the evening, the highlight of which was surely the Chiklis announcement and his surprise appearance. As exec producer Ryan Murphy explains it, he’ll play the father of Evan Peters’ character and Kathy Bates’ ex-husband.

Also present were Emma Roberts, Denis O’Hare, Gabourey Sidibe, and Jamie Brewer, all of whom will be joining the previously announced Peters, Bates, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy for “Freak Show.” We may see other returnees from Seasons 1 and 2 as well.
