A harrowing documentary about a natural disaster is currently claiming the #1 chart position on the Netflix platform. That’s right, Alexandra Lacey’s The Twister: Caught in the Storm just debuted on the platform yesterday and it’s already captivating subscribers in a big way.

The film chronicles footage from an EF-5 tornado that touched down in Joplin, Missouri. The weather event coincided with graduation proceedings for the class of 2011. The film unfolds from their perspective and tells their story.

Netflix subscribers have been connecting with the film in the short time since it debuted. Some have praised the picture’s ability to run the full gamut of emotions.
