Wife of ‘Ghost Adventures’ Star Plotted Husband’s Murder With Hitman Boyfriend [Horror IRL]

I used to be a really big fan of those paranormal reality shows. You know the kind. Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, and similar iterations on ghosts and hunting. Plop a bunch of dudes in a haunted house, add some incredulous digital tech and parapsychological jargon, and I’m hooked. I even love the fictional version of what’s already arguably fiction. Grave Encounters and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum are fantastic worst-case scenarios, the kind of encounters we all hope for when logging in for some late-night paranormal television.
You might watch something like Ghost Adventures, the 28-season reality series that first premiered in 2008, hoping for some spectral jolts or ghostly scares, but you probably wouldn’t expect an in-real-life tale of love and murder. Well, it happened. Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin’s wife, Victoria Goodwin, allegedly fell in with a convicted murderer and subsequently commissioned him to murder her husband. People are always going to be scarier than ghosts.
If you’re feeling morbid, the series is streaming in almost its entirety on Hulu. But, back to the murder-for-hire. Per Fox News, Victoria Goodwin was first introduced to hitman Grant Amato through a true-crime documentary titled Ctrl+Alt+Desire, now streaming on Paramount+ if you’re interested (and I know you are). That documentary detailed Amato’s murder of his mother, father, and brother, which for most people is a primo red flag.

Victoria Goodwin allegedly felt differently, striking up a pen pal relationship with Amato—currently held in a Florida prison—to detail the dissolution of her marriage. A marriage, she allegedly texted, that should end in the death of Aaron Goodwin, rather than a simple divorce. Earnestly, it’s kind of scary. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Victoria used the “Find My” application to track Aaron’s location, sharing that with Amato, who subsequently shared it with a third party. The goal was to assassinate Aaron while he slept in his hotel on set for Ghost Adventures.
The plot was uncovered when Amato’s phone was confiscated by correctional officers. Victoria Goodwin was arrested on March 6 and charged with soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder against her husband. Aaron has subsequently filed for divorce (good).
What do you think? Is this a terrifying true story or what? Let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins, and let me know if Ghost Adventures is going to land a little differently for you now.
