This Most-Watched Free-to-Stream Horror Movie Stars an Iconic Legend of Genre Cinema

Free to Stream Horror Movie Danny Trejo

The most-watched horror film on Amazon Freevee today is a farcical effort starring the iconic Danny Trejo. I’m talking about John Gulager’s latest film, Seven Cemeteries (stylized on the one sheet as Se7en Cemeteries). The film has been charting in the top 10 on Freevee for the past several days, and today, Seven Cemeteries sits as the third most-watched film on the service overall.

To call this horror picture campy might be an understatement. After all, the flick follows a recently paroled Danny Trejo and his army of undead sidekicks as they face off against a drug impresario. If you need an escape from reality, this may be just the ticket.

In the film, “A recent parolee gets a Mexican witch to resurrect his old posse so that they can help him save a woman’s ranch from a ruthless drug lord.

I haven’t had the chance to check out this quirky film yet. However, I’m intrigued by the outlandish nature of the setup, and the trailer certainly piqued my curiosity. I’ve embedded it above if you’re curious to see what I mean.

The film has flown largely under the radar so far. So, it’s tough to get a proper pulse on how people are reacting. Additionally, there are no critical reviews available on Rotten Tomatoes as of the publication of this post. So, I can’t really gauge critical response either.

John Gulager directs Seven Cemeteries from a script by Joel Soisson. Gulager also takes a ‘story by’ credit here. Soisson previously worked with Gulager on Piranha 3DD, among other projects. He also co-wrote the screenplay for the heavy metal horror film Trick or Treat, which stars Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. Quite the interesting resume, indeed.

In addition to Danny Trejo in the lead role, the film also stars Noel Gugliemi, Efren Ramirez, Maria Canals-Barrera, Lew Temple, and Sol Rodriguez.
