Del Toro’s Future

default-featured-image

Guillermo del Toro talks horrorI remember there was a span of about three months a year or so back when it seemed like every other day we were hearing about a new project that Guillermo del Toro was attached to in some way, be it as producer, writer, developer … Now that the Spanish helmer’s future is becoming clearer, we can finally get an update on some of those projects thanks to the folks at STYD, who talked to del Toro recently for Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

He did confirm that things are moving along on the remake of The Orphanage, and if he gets who he wants behind it, “It would definitely make a difference. It won’t be the same movie just done by a guy that has an American name. It’s a new proposition.” Definitely a good thing.

At the Mountains of Madness remains in limbo, though it does have a home at Universal. Del Toro still isn’t sure if it will happen due to its scale and downbeat ending, but we can always hope.

Though he didn’t reveal what his next project will definitely be, Sergio Sanchez is writing the script for 3993, his next Spanish-language movie, and he is producing one of his un-produced scripts with a first-time director for Miramax but didn’t have any more details yet.
