The #1 Most-Watched Series on Prime Video Stars Kevin Bacon in a Violent and Outrageous New Role

I’ve been on the prowl for a new television series of late and I think I may have happened upon my next binge. It’s a horror show featuring Kevin Bacon as the hardboiled protagonist. No, I’m not talking about The Following, silly. I’m talking about the new Prime Video original series The Bondsman. Not only is the program the most-viewed television program on the platform today, it’s also the most viewed title on the streamer overall.
Judging by the trailer (check it out for yourself in the player below), the series takes a level of inspiration from The Evil Dead universe. More specifically Ash vs Evil Dead. The show mixes brutal demon-slaying violence with groan-inducing jokes. Not to mention, Bacon’s Hub Halloran looks mighty comfortable toting a chainsaw.
My one reservation is that the VFX looks a little rough. Kind of unrealistic. However, this is a horror fantasy series that looks like a graphic novel come to life. So, I suppose I can show the program some leniency on that basis. To be clear, The Bondsman is not based on an existing IP. It just has the look and feel of a property adapted from a graphic novel or comic.
This is the setup for this quirky supernatural horror series:
Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter, is back from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell; by chasing them down, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned.

Jennifer Nettles, Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy star alongside a rootin’ tootin’ Kevin Bacon. Grainger David created the show, taking a writing credit on four of the eight series episodes. All of David’s previous IMDb credits are for short films, so this is definitely a big step forward for the creator.
If The Bondsman sounds like your cup of tea, you can check it out on Prime Video now. All eight season one episodes are currently available to stream on the platform.
That is just about all that I have for you at present.
