Final 3 Penny Dreadful Character Posters Unveiled!On tap right now is your first look at a trio of new “Penny Dreadful” character posters including Victor Frankenstein – a Romantic poet-turned-surgeon fascinated with the mysteries of life and death, Sir Malcolm – a hardened African explorer determined to right the wrongs of his past, and Sembene – Sir Malcolm’s sentry and confidant.

“Penny Dreadful” is set to premiere on Showtime on Sunday, May 11th, at 10PM ET/PT.

Timothy Dalton (Sir Malcolm), Reeve Carney (Dorian Gray), Josh Hartnett (Ethan Chandler), Harry Treadaway (Dr. Frankenstein), Rory Kinnear (The Creature), Billie Piper (Brona Croft), and Eva Green (Vanessa Ives) star. Danny Sapani portrays Sembene.

“Penny Dreadful” is created, written, and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Hugo, The Aviator, Gladiator) and executive produced by Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) and Neal Street’s Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road, “Call the Midwife”). Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible) directs the first two episodes.

Synopsis
Some of literature’s most terrifying characters, including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula, are lurking in the darkest corners of Victorian London. “PENNY DREADFUL” is a frightening psychological thriller that weaves together these classic horror origin stories into a new adult drama.
