‘The Life of Chuck’ Trailer: An Emotional Epic from Stephen King and Mike Flanagan

Horror master Stephen King and director Mike Flanagan go together like peanut butter and jelly, especially when it comes to crafting terrifying yet deeply emotionally affecting stories. Now, Flanagan is tackling a different kind of King story with his latest film, The Life of Chuck, which is coming to theaters this June from Neon.
In the new Stephen King adaptation:
From the hearts and minds of Stephen King and Mike Flanagan comes The Life of Chuck, the extraordinary story of an ordinary man. This unforgettable, genre-bending tale celebrates the life of Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz as he experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us.
Watch the official trailer:
Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hamill star in The Life of Chuck. The trailer also teases a cameo appearance from horror heartthrob Matthew Lillard.
In his review of the film from the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, Dread Central’s managing editor Josh Korngut wrote,
[Flanagan’s] latest project further proves that this creative is uniquely King-ian in his storytelling abilities. The fact that he’s now successfully adapted three of King’s most complex works, including Doctor Sleep and the once-deemed unadaptable Gerald’s Game, is just further icing on my reductive theory that Flanagan is in training to one day (hopefully a very long time from now) succeed King as the modern master of character-centered genre.
The Life of Chuck comes to select cities on June 6, 2025, and releases everywhere on June 13, 2025.
