Misha Collins Returning as a Regular in Supernatural Season 10

Castiel has been a fan favorite since first appearing in “Supernatural” Season 4, but the status of Misha Collins, the actor who portrays him, has been in a constant state of flux, going from recurring to regular, back to recurring, and even switching to “Special Guest Star” in Season 8.

He’s been considered a series regular this year in Season 9, and things will remain the same for Season 10; however, per TV Guide, the role Castiel will play hinges on how the battle with Metatron is resolved in the season finale, which airs on Tuesday, May 20th.

And we’ve just gotten hold of the synopsis for said finale, Episode 9.23, “Do You Believe in Miracles?,” which you’ll find below the summary of the upcoming Episode 9.22, “Stairway to Heaven.”

After a massive attack on the angels, Castiel (Misha Collins) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help. As they leave, Dean’s eagerness to bring the First Blade doesn’t go unnoticed by Sam, who is worried about the cost to his brother whenever he uses the Blade. Meanwhile, Castiel is shocked when he learns the angel that caused the attack was one of his followers and did it in his name. Dean discovers there is a conspiracy amongst Castiel’s angel followers, and at the heart of it is Tessa, the Reaper (Lindsey McKeon). Guy Bee directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb.

Dean (Jensen Ackles) feels the effects of the First Blade, and Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) makes his move against humanity. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean, and Castiel (Misha Collins) face shocking consequences when taking the fight to Metatron. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver.
