The latest in the acclaimed fiction chapbook line from British small press ‘This Is Horror’ has been revealed as Ray Cluley’s Water for Drowning, which will be coming to us in a special edition sporting some very nice extras. Read on for the deets!
Synopsis:
Bad things happen to good people, but sometimes the reverse is true, too.
For Josh, falling in love does not fit in with his rock and roll lifestyle. And falling for someone who believes in mermaids? Who wants to be one? Well, he wasn’t expecting that, either.
But the sea is deep with mysteries. Sometimes they wash ashore, whispered in the hush of a quiet tide, and all you have to do is listen. Other times you have to have to explore the dark beneath the surface yourself, unsure of what you might find…
Regular readers of Dread Central may have noticed Cluley’s name as one of the most consistently impressive contributors to TTA Press’ horror fiction magazine ‘Black Static’, and his wider critical reception continues to impress on an ever grander scale. So, then, it should be rather exciting for fans of Cluley’s macabre tales to note that this printing of Water for Drowning will also include a specially written introduction by the author, alongside his British Fantasy Award-winning story ‘Shark! Shark!’
All pre-ordered editions of Water for Drowning will also be individually signed by Cluley – an extra perk that will no longer be available when the general release date, currently specified as ‘Summer 2014’, rolls around.
Water for Drowning can be pre-ordered at the This Is Horror Shop here, where you can also subscribe to their ongoing release line at a discounted price including various worldwide shipping options. Look out for a review coming soon!
