Emily Mortimer Turns an Eye Toward the Spectral

Another bit of casting news has arrived for the latest spooker from Legendary Pictures, titled Spectral, as Shutter Island‘s Emily Mortimer is now in negotiations to start ghostbusting with the military!

She will join the previously announced Clayne Crawford, Cory Hardrict, James Badge Dale, and Max Martini. The flick is being directed by Nic Matthieu for Universal and Legendary.

The premise of the project is centered on a modern-day, militaristic, and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural.

The pitch, which sold for six figures, has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan. Locations and details might change, however.
