It was during the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con when it was first announced that the Weinstein Co.’s Dimension Films was developing a TV show based on David Cronenberg’s 1981 cult classic Scanners with director Alexandre Aja serving as executive producer.
Today during the press conference for Horns, we got a quick update from Aja on where the show is at.
“I’ve always been a huge huge fan of Cronenberg and especially Scanners,” says Aja. “I think it’s one of the best worlds and best universes created. There’s been a few years where I’ve tried to figure out a way to create a TV show. Hopefully, next year here at the same place we’ll be revealing a lot, but yes, but this is definitely something I want to do next.”
“It’s gonna be so good your head’s gonna explode,” chimed in author Joe Hill (also on the Horns panel with Aja) with a laugh.
Stay tuned, kids.
