Italian Masters Deliver “Dirt”
Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni seems like she just stepped out of nowhere, or at least post-Demons 2 obscurity, and into the hearts of horror freaks everywhere in the last year. Along with just being a really cool chick all around, she’s starring in the new Dario Argento film Mother of Tears and has a ton of genre projects on the horizon. The most recent we caught wind of is “The Dirt”, and man does it have some talent involved…
“The Dirt” is a short film helmed by Simona & Claudio Simonetti of Goblin fame, with a score composed by Claudio and special effects done up by long-time Argento collaborator Sergio Stivaletti. Oh, and of course Cataldi-Tassoni is the star.
The film tells the tale of a married woman who develops a very unhealthy relationship with an unusual plant growing in her living room (!), a plant that holds a multitude of secrets … but not as many as the woman herself holds.
Icons of Fright got word that “The Dirt” MySpace page is now online, which has a lot more photos like the one you see here as well as some behind-the-scenes antics. “The Dirt” is premiering on February 27th at a special invite-only party celebrating the life and work of Claudio Simonetti; hopefully the rest of the public will get a chance to see it soon, as well!
Tell us what your plants say to you in the Dread Central forums!
