Haig on Superbeasto & Spider Baby Redux
There’s so very much that can be said about Sid Haig. Here’s a guy with a career that most actors only dream about. I mean come on, he’s worked with everyone from the great Lon Chaney, Jr. to Rob Zombie. Speaking of which …
Fangoria got word from Sid concerning the reprisal of the role that put him back on the cinema map, Captain Spaulding, in Rob Zombie’s upcoming The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.
“It’s not a very big scene at all; it takes place in a bar,” Haig tells Fango. “It’s crazy, it’s wacky, it’s a lot of fun. It was kind of like doing voice-overs for a [live-action] film, but it was cool, because the characters are so out there that we had a chance to ad-lib some stuff and carry on a little bit. I can’t wait to see the whole thing completed.”
Sid also shed some light on his involvement with Jeff Broadstreet’s proposed Spider Baby remake …
“Jeff has talked about it, but certainly not to my agent or to me in any way at all,” says Haig. “So I don’t know if that’s wishful thinking or whatever, but nothing has really been said.”
