Tim Lebbon's White heads to the big screen! Now this is some very, very good news indeed.

Tim Lebbon is easily one of my favorite horror authors in the business today. His books are creepy, cruel, and full of amazing imagery the likes of which some authors strive their entire careers to achieve. I’ve been waiting patiently for news that someone, somewhere, would be smart enough to finally get around to bringing his unique voice and vision to the big screen, and today Variety has announced that someone is The Grudge screenwriter Stephen Susco.

Susco has been announced as making his directorial debut on White, based on the story of the same name from Lebbon’s must-read collection of apocalyptic tales of woe, White and Other Tales of Ruin (get it here!). The story deals with a group of strangers trapped in a mansion during a seemingly never-ending blizzard, who are being picked off one by one by some mysterious, unseen creatures.

Zoom Entertainment, who are also behind the slowly developing adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline, are funding the project, which will be distributed by the horror savy crew over at Rogue Pictures. As the film was just announced there aren’t any specifics yet, but you can bet your ass we’re going to be following this one very, very closely!
