Exclusive: Rachel Reilly Talks Axeman 2: OverkillWe told you about Joston Theney’s sequel to his flick Axeman, entitled Axeman 2: Overkill, a few weeks back; and right now we have an exclusive interview with star Rachel Reilly (“Big Brother,” “The Amazing Race”) to share.

Dread Central: Mum’s been the word with the producers, Joston “El Rey” Theney and Dr. Christopher Otiko, so. What can you tell us about the film?

Rachel Reilly: The film is reminiscent of a 1980s slasher film. It has a witty script and is really fun, action-packed, and of course scary. You’re going to laugh and have to cover your eyes! It’s everything you want in a horror flick! They take the killings to a whole new level.

DC: You play “Breaker” in the film. What can you tell us about the character? How does she fit into this world?

RR: Breaker is one badass chic whose only loyalty is to a paycheck! She couldn’t care less about friends, relationships, or being polite. She just wants that money, honey, and will do whatever it takes to find it…. You will see her with big guns, and what she does with them will shock you!

DC: You’ve had quite a long stint on the popular show “Big Brother.” How have the horrors of reality TV prepared you for the horrors that await you in Axeman 2: Overkill?

RR: Ha ha! Life in the “Big Brother” house is one big horror flick! You never know what to expect around the corner; you wish there were an Axeman killing off your houseguests! You scream, cry, laugh, and go through a lot of emotions… just like in Axeman 2: Overkill.

DC: As this is your first horror film, are you a little fearful walking in?

RR: Oh my god! I am so excited to be part of this project! It’s going to be really fun! I am excited about what my character is going to be wearing and doing and excited about the other actors in the film and working with Joston! I am fearful of the Axeman; I watched Axeman I and was crying because I think I’m scarred for life! So maybe I’m fearful to meet the Axeman himself!

DC: The original Axeman was pretty dark yet funny, and the minds behind it have said the sequel is going to be darker, grittier, and bloodier. You’ve read the script – what’s your take on it? What are we in store for?

RR: You are in store for A LOT of dark and bloody guts and glory! The movie is most definitely darker then the first but in a way that horror fanatics have come to expect and love! It’s going to be a kickback to the slasher movies of the 80s with all the blood and guts and glory that you love! There is suspense around every corner and a lot of HORROR! But what else would we want from the Axeman series!?

DC: What can tell us about working with Joston “El Rey” Theney so far? Have you guys gotten into the collaborative process?

RR: I am so excited to work with Joston! He’s a horror creative genius! He’s amazing, and he has that brilliant twisted horror mind you need in this type of movie. I think the audience is going to see things in this movie that they have never seen in a horror flick; it pushes all types of boundaries!

DC: Any future projects beyond Axeman 2: Overkill that you’re working on? Are you headed back to the “Big Brother” house? What can you you tell us?

RR: I am busy being a journalist writing articles and producing and hosting my own talk show called “Reality Relapse” and working as a correspondent on a test run of a talk show on FOX called “Hollywood Today Live.” I’ve also had the opportunity to film a few soap scenes on “Youthful Daze” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” so I’m really excited for what my career holds for me in the future. But honestly, I’m probably the most excited about working on this movie! I am training with a coach and working out like crazy so I can get my booty into Breaker’s outfit for the movie!

I would love to test my skills on another competition reality show so “Big Brother All Stars” is never out of the question, but I’m secretly also hoping I get called for “Survivor”!

DC: Any website, social media, or event for yourself, the film, or future projects you’d like to share?

RR: I’m @RachelEReilly on Twitter and RachelEReillyVillegas on Instagram. I always update my peeps on Twitter. I LOVE TO TWEET and interact with fans!

Axeman 2: Overkill Details
On the heels of successful early results from the May 5th release of Axeman, filmmaker Joston “El Rey” Theney and co-writer/executive producer Dr. Christopher Otiko of Blood Red Films announce plans for the sequel, Axeman 2: Overkill.

Officially in pre-production as of Thursday, July 2nd, cameras roll in early October on location in Frazier Park, CA. The upcoming sequel stars former 7-time World Champion (WWE “Adam Bomb / WCW “Wrath”) Bryan Clark as the titular character, former “Baywatch” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Angelica Bridges, recent “Big Brother” reality contest winner Rachel Reilly, and Farrah Abraham in her feature film debut.

Axeman alum Arielle Brachfeld returns to the retro 80s-inspired slasher as plucky, reluctant hero Deputy Darlene Whitfield, as does Theney, who reprises his role as the affable, death-defying Darren Cole. Newcomers to the slasher series are Jacqui Holland (My Best Friend’s Girl), Alisha Seaton (The Fourth Kind), Maria Olsen (Paranormal Activity 7), Monique Parent (Profane Exhibit), and Hannah Landberg (Rabid Love).

When asked for details on the sequel, writer/director Joston Theney replied, “Well, it’s certainly a darker, grittier film than the first. We learned a lot from our first go ‘round. There’s no CGI blood splatters. No short cuts in SFX. No deeply, intertwined love trysts. This is a bloodletting! This film WILL live up to its name – Overkill. Guaranteed.”

The sequel will see an initial theatrical release in early 2015.

Get ready for another vacation to dismember with Axeman 2: Overkill.
