Police Urge ‘LEAVE THE WOMAN IN BLACK ALONE!’

Police Urge 'LEAVE THE WOMAN IN BLACK ALONE!'File this one under “How the Hell Is This News?” You know, no one understands the allure of a mysterious woman in black more than I do, but people in Winchester, Virginia, are taking this bit of not-so-paranormal catnip to a much higher level.

Winchester residents have come across a mysterious woman dressed in black, known now as “The Woman in Black,” walking about their town, and they’ve gone so far as to track her appearances and even created an official Woman in Black Facebook Sighting Page to keep tabs on her for… well… who knows why.

Even weirder, The Woman in Black’s story made the local news.

PIX14 reports that the mysterious woman has been spotted wearing all black and traveling on foot with black luggage through several states, but now police are asking the public to leave her alone.

The woman, identified as 50-year-old Elizabeth Poles, caught the attention of several residents of the Virginia town, prompting numerous calls to the police department and dozens of people gathering to take a closer look at her.

Why? Just why? Here’s an idea! How about you all leave the poor woman alone and let her do her thing… or better yet, instead of gawking at her like an 14-year-old idiot trying to invent an urban legend, why not lend her a helping hand? What the fuck is wrong with people?!?!

In other news, DC staffer Debi Moore had no comment nor will she tell me where she’s been going with our luggage. Stay tuned.
