Death Note Coming to U.S. Screens!
Finally, after years of talking about it as if it were some Holy Grail of unfound cinema, you guys will finally get a chance to see the first “>Death Note (review) in theaters next month!
Word came over the ANN yesterday that Viz Pictures has announced a two-day only screening of Death Note on May 20th and 21st in just over 300 American theaters through National CineMedia’s NCM Fathom. Not only will the screenings be presented in a high-def digital projection system, meaning they’re going to look amazing, but they will also include a 20-minute featurette about the making of the film featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
Ticket will be available early to subscribers of the Shonen Jump e-mail newsletter, while the general public will be able to get them either at the box office or at the Fathom Events website starting on April 21st.
The second film, “>Death Note: The Last Name (review), will also be coming to theaters, though it’s only listed as “coming soon” for now. I hope you can make it out to see this sucker on the big screen; while not 100% horror, it is a very cool movie from top to bottom and a great choice for those of you craving something different.
