MarVista Finds Sasquatch

No, it’s not hardcore, blood splattering horror, but every budding horror fan has to start somewhere, right? Right.

To that end, Variety announced today that the family entertainment company MarVista has nabbed the theatrical rights to The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang, about some young sci fi/fantasy geeks who stumble upon huge footprints in the woods and the madness that ensues when they enlist the help of townspeople to try and find the mythical Sasquatch.

The film will be screening at the American Film Market next week, so expect to hear a lot more about it shortly after. Tim Skousen, assistant director on Napoleon Dynamite, took helming duties on Sasquatch, which was also produced by one of Dynamite’s producers.

MarVista plans a full theatrical release for the film, and if it’s as good as the few who have seen it say it is, it could help to usher in a whole new generation of horror fans!
