Hellboy IIIf you live in or around LA or are planning to be in the area at the end of June, you could be among the lucky few who get to see Hellboy II: The Golden Army a full 13 days early.

The sequel, which fans have been eagerly awaiting ever since the first Hallboy debuted back in 2004, is slated to close out this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival, which is put on by Film Independent and presented by the LA Times. The fest runs from June 19-29 in Westwood Village and promises a good mix of genres. Timur Bekmambetov’s first English-language film, Wanted, is playing opening night.

Along with the usual narrative, documentary, international, and shorts categories, they are also offering “Dark Wave” films including the Swedish vamp flick Let the Right One In, which just won the Best Narrative Feature award at Tribeca, and X-Cross, a Japanese film from the screenwriter of Death Note and the director of Battle Royale II. There’s even a special screening of Lost Boys scheduled during the event’s ten-day run.

An interactive guide to all of the films will be available starting May 21st. In the meantime you can check out a list of everything showing on the official LA Film Festival site.
