October 2014 Box of Dread: The Walking Dead, Van Helsing, Teddy Scares And More
By now, the reliable neighborhood mail person should have delivered a box of goodies to most, if not all, Box of Dread subscribers. Since we have many items in the October Box of Dread that were specially made or packaged for us, we thought that this list with their description would come in handy.
1) Teddy Scares Buttons (rare)
These tiny terrors were once lifeless teddy bears. When their owners outgrew them, they were thrown away. With no place else to go, the Teddy Scares made a home in the trash dump they woke up in. Now, they spend their nights searching: some for fun and adventure, some for trouble, some for friendship and some for love. Though their personalities are quite different from one another, deep down these furry freaks all desire to have an owner again.
Find out what else is available from Teddy Scares from the Teddy Scares website.
2) Van Helsing Stickers from Diamond Select Toys (exclusive)
This Van Helsing sticker was exclusively made for Box of Dread subscribers by Diamond Select Toys to celebrate their new Universal Monsters collection. In addition to Van Helsing, the Universal Monsters collection also include The Creature from the Black Lagoon and Boris Karloff as he appeared as Frankenstein’s monster in Son of Frankenstein. See what the action figures look like and learn about their figure specs by clicking here.
3) Ghostbusters Stay Puft Sticker (exclusive)
This Ghostbusters Stay Puft sticker is also another exclusive for Box of Dread subscribers. The design is from Strange Kids Club, and they only have this design available for their Something Strange T-shirts, which are currently in stock if you also want to wear the design.
4) Zombie Pumpkins Carving Patterns ($5)
These horror icons (Stay Puft, Slimer, Michael Myers, Sam from Trick ‘r Treat and the Zombie Pumpkins logo) carving patterns came from Zombie Pumpkins, which also sells them directly. If you want more patterns than what were in October’s Box of Dread, you can always join Zombie Pumpkins for as little as $2 for 2 patterns. Make sure to follow their pumpkin carving instructions when you’re ready to carve your pumpkins!
5) Halloween Experience DVD ($12.99)
The Halloween Experience Volume One DVD is specially packaged for Box of Dread subscribers to fit the size of the delivery box. This hosted haunted attraction showcase features some of the most intense haunted attractions out there.
The haunts in this volume one include Sinister Point in Brea, CA; Reign of Terror in Thousand Oaks, CA; Chambers of the Mausoleum in Corona, CA; The Backwoods Maze in Burbank, CA; The Haunted Hotel in San Diego, CA; and Fears Gate in Oxnard, CA. If you’re not near any of these haunts, this DVD gets you up close & personal into the intense experience that is Halloween.
6) McFarlane Toys The Walking Dead TV Series 5 Action Figures ($15.99)
These McFarlane Toys “The Walking Dead” Series 5 Action Figures are each highly articulated human figures featuring the exact likeness of the actor by using a 3D scanning process. These figures are 5″ tall and retail for roughly $14-$17 apiece.
There are 4 different figures (Maggie, Glenn, Zombie Merle and Charred Zombie), and each Box of Dread subscriber received one of them at random.
