Screamfest L.A. 2014 Exclusive: The Woman’s Pollyanna McIntosh Talks the Premiere of White Settlers
With the Screamfest US Premiere of director Simeon Halligan’s White Settlers having taken place last night in Hollywood, CA, here are video clips and photos of lead actress Pollyanna McIntosh (Lucky McKee’s The Woman), who chatted with us on the carpet regarding the film.
Currently under way at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood, CA, the 14th Annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival showcased White Settlers, a suspense thriller written by Ian Fenton, which pitches the modern urbanite dream of starting a simple life in the country against the possibility of a very different and terrifying reality. Its synopsis follows:
Set in the borders of Scotland, it’s Ed and Sarah’s first night at their new home, an isolated farmhouse. This should be a new beginning away from their stressful London lives. And at first it is; come sunset they fall in love all over again as they wander in the beautiful Scottish landscape. But as darkness falls, Sarah suspects they’re not alone, Ed goes to investigate, and quickly the evening becomes a nightmare. It suddenly dawns on them; they do not belong here. And they’re certainly not welcome.
Produced by Rachel Richardson-Jones, White Settlers stars McIntosh and Lee Williams. Chatting with the actress, she communicated prior to the film’s screening what initially drew her to the script, the impact on her career of her role in The Woman, and her upcoming feature projects, one which she describes as an Amicus, Hammer-style horror comedy anthology titled Its Walls Were Blood, co-starring Steve Oram (Sightseers), which kicks off principal photography this December in the UK.
Also in attendance were actress Jessica Cameron and directors Damon Rickard and Alex Mathieson, whose short film The Tour played to an enthusiastic audience.

Screamfest runs through tomorrow, October 23rd.
