Fox Gives Frankenstein a Put Pilot Commitment
As if we don’t have enough Frankenstein’s monsters running around, Fox TV is about to add another one… and he’s definitely not your father’s creature! Read on for the details of what’s being called a “grounded sci-fi drama.”
Per Deadline, the parties behind the potential series to whom Fox has given a put pilot commitment, include Howard Gordon (“Homeland”) and Rand Ravich (“Crisis”). “Frankenstein” will be written and executive produced by Ravich and executive produced by Gordon, whose genre roots include “The X-Files,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Angel.”
In case you’re not familiar with the term, a “put pilot” is one that the network has committed to put into production. It might not air, but at least it’s gotten past the first step.
“Frankenstein” will center on Adam Tremble, a morally corrupt FBI agent who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Tremble will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose – dealing with threats beyond the FBI’s capabilities – while navigating a complicated relationship with his “creators”: an antisocial Internet billionaire and his bio-engineer twin sister.
20th TV and Gordon’s studio-based Teakwood Lane Prods. produce with the company’s Hugh Fitzpatrick serving as co-executive producer.
