Death Note comes to DVD September 16th!It’s a slim bit of news, but noteworthy all the same; Viz Media has announced a September 16th, 2008 DVD release date for “>Death Note (review). Viz was behind the film’s limited theatrical run we told you about a while back as well, which put a dubbed (gack) version of the film out to the masses for a weekend.

For those who have not been following along, Death Note is the tale of Light, a brilliant young student with limited prospects who is nevertheless bored out of his mind. That is, until he finds the Death Note, a notebook with the power to kill whoever’s name is written in it. As his killing spree baffles more and more police, candy-loving detective L is brought in to track down the person responsible before his power trip gets much more out of control.

As of now no features have been announced for the disc, but considering how Viz has treated the film so far, I doubt that will be the case for long. IGN got a look at the cover art, as you can see on your right.
