Sorority Babes/Gutterballs Double Feature Kicking Off CouchCutter.tv in January
Airing internationally for one night only on January 28, 2015, Ryan Nicholson’s Gutterballs and David DeCoteau’s Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama are coming to your living room for a very special evening of bowling alley terror!
This double feature will serve as the “Main Event” of CouchCutter.tv’s premiere broadcast on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. It will stream online and be available on over 10 million televisions via the Roku streaming device, completely FREE, in the classic cable broadcast format that fans love.
The event is NOT “On Demand” but is a one-night-only live broadcast. Horror and cult fans can tweet along using the #couchcutter hashtag on Twitter. The evening will also feature tweet-along celebrity guests to be announced.
Special effects makeup artist Ryan Nicholson (Final Destination, “Supernatural) wrote and directed 2008’s Gutterballs, which has been hailed as an extreme horror masterpiece. Full Moon Entertainment’s 1988 cult classic Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama is directed by David DeCoteau (Puppet Master III) and stars scream queens Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead), Brinke Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre), and Michelle Bauer (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers).
“We are totally excited to bring this double feature to cult and horror fans in the old-school cable format in which it was meant to be experienced!” says CouchCutter.tv founder David Anthony. “Ryan Nicholson is a genius, and Sorority Babes is a classic, classic film. Everything came together perfectly for that movie: David DeCoteau’s directing, amazing performances by the holy trinity of scream queens, and to top it all off, it features Andras Jones (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4) and Hal Havins (Night of the Demons). Whoa!”
In addition to this perfect pairing of a Main Event, the broadcast will include additional programming. Details will be announced soon, but expect quality independent cult, horror, and fantasy shorts and series selected from filmmakers that have submitted their work at CouchCutter.tv. Selected works will share in the evening’s advertising profits and participate in an awards competition at the end of the broadcast year.
“As soon as someone suggested it, we knew that this was the double feature to kick off CouchCutter.tv,” David adds. “Imps, bloodshed, gratuitous nudity, and bowling… Perfect plans for a Wednesday night!”
Additional events will be announced soon. For more information, visit the Deadly Bowling Double Feature event page.
