Dark Moon Rising Set Visit Preview
Out in the dark somewhere between Death Valley and Area 51, things were going bump in the night. Good thing for you, yours truly was there to investigate. Luckily the only real demons I’d have to face that night were of the windblown dust storm variety.
Recently I spent a night on the set of the new creature feature Dark Moon Rising, and so far I have to say this up-and-coming flick looks to be the real deal in terms of an indie horror showcase!
With an ensemble cast that includes Max Ryan, the still very-much-too-hot Maria Conchita Alonso, character actor aces Chris Mulkey and Billy Drago, genre vets Sid Haig and Lin Shaye, and newcomers Ginny Weirick and Chris Divecchio, Dark Moon Rising is sporting an impressive acting pedigree for a low budget genre flick.
Having been on the set, I can tell you this: Every bit of the film’s budget is going to be up on the screen, and you guys are in for a treat! We’re talking physical creature effects and buckets of gore provided by Alahouzos Studios along with a deep storyline that promises to be lots of fun.
And who’s the maestro behind the mayhem? Canadian born Dana Mennie. If there’s anything at all that’s going to turn this project into something special, it’s this guy. His passion is nothing short of infectious, and I’m thinking that’s the main reason why he was able to secure a lot of the talent that has come on board for this flick.
There’s lots of stuff to talk about, and Dread Central is going to let it fly with both barrels within the next few weeks with an official set report, exclusive stills, on-camera interviews, and lots more!
Don’t move a muscle. Good things of the splattery variety are on their way.
