Whedon Talks Goners, Cabin in the Woods
Joss Whedon is working on so many thing right now, it’s hard to believe he’s actually got time to sit down and be interviewed. But interviewed he was, by MTV most recently, to whom he gave an across-the-board status update on many of his projects.
First and foremost, Goners, the horror/fantasy he’s been talking about for years now, it officially on the Universal “back burner”. Why? God only knows, but Joss told the MTV folks he still sees it being made someday, just not right now. Damnit!
He is, however, working on another project with Cloverfield writer and “Buffy” alumn Drew Goddard called Cabin in the Woods. It’s a project Goddard says has a ”harder and darker edge, but it’s also got classic Whedon qualities. It’ll rip your heart out and be heartfelt at the same time.” Nothing was officially said about what the film is about, but it does have to do with a cabin. In the woods. “It’s its own sub-genre, the cabin in the woods, and this is sort of our take on it. It’s fresh and new,” Goddard teased.
Whedon also dropped news on “Dollhouse”, his new Fox show, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”, his new web series, and a lot more so get clicking over there to read the whole thing!
